Rum punches, such as Planter's, Fish House, Bajan, Caribbean, and others.
The most historical is the Bajan (prepared with rum from Barbados). Its recipe is one part lime juice, two parts sweetener, three parts rum, and four parts water. It is served with a dash or two of Angostura bitters and nutmeg. However, the most famous is Planter's, invented at the bar of the Planters' House hotel in St. Louis, Missouri. It contains rum, lemon juice, pineapple juice, lime juice, orange juice, grenadine, soda water, curaçao, Angostura bitters, and cayenne pepper. |

Cups, such as Pim's Cup.
Traditionally served at hunting parties in England, this variety is now sipped at social events including garden parties, tennis matches, and picnics. Cups are lower in alcohol and use wine, cider, sloe gin or liqueurs as a base, often mingled with fruit juices or soft drinks. Pimm's Cup uses one part of Pimm's №1 and two parts of British-style lemonade, a squeeze of lemon, orange, lemon and apple slices, a couple of cucumber wedges and borage flowers as a final decoration. |
